The Children of America

So this morning as I was driving to work, I was listening to the radio as they talked about older people needing Meals on Wheels.  That's great and all, but what about the children of today?  They're hungry too!!  There are three MILLION children who are STARVING every single day in Americal, and there are millions more who have to skip at least one meal a day, because their families cannot afford to feed them.  Why are so many people eager to help the starving kids in Africa, yet no one will come to the rescue of the children in our own backyards?  There are kids in our neighborhood, in our children's schools, in our town, who are going to bed hungry every night.  There are kids in America whose ONLY meals come from their school.  What do they do during the summer?  Do they go hungry all summer?

 Enter Feeding America.  Feeding America is a network that feeds over 37 million people each year.  Feeding America provides food to children in bags that do not embarrass the child, giving them the food they need without causing unnecessary grief for the child.  In 2009 alone, the BackPack Programs with Feeding America fed over 190,000 children.  The BackPack Program has been around since 1995, and in 2009 there were more than 140 Feeding America volunteers helping in preparation for the summer.

 With another summer fast approaching, what are you going to do to help?  I have a  way to help the children, while also getting something neat for you in the process.  I have an amazing offer.  For the next two weeks, you can buy a Balance Band in any color, or a ZX3 Cell Phone Shield Tab, for $20, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Feeding America.  The more bandz you buy, the more money that goes to the foundation.  For each band you buy, $5 will go towards Feeding America and the BackPack Program.  Buy five or more bandz or shields at a time, and Feeding America will get $7 for each band purchased.  If you buy just TEN Balance Bandz, my company will send $9 for each band purchased.  That means, if you buy TEN balance bandz, you will feed almost 700 people!!!
